Zagreb, March 30, 2012

The International conference “Physics of Low-Dimensional Conductors: Problems and Perspectives” took place from March 25-28 at the Institute of Physics in Zagreb, Croatia, under the auspices of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

The conference was organized by the Institute of Physics and Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, and partially supported through the Unity through Knowledge Fund program „New electronic states driven by frustration in layered materials“. The occasion was the 70th birthday of the Academician Slaven Barišić.

More than 60 scientists, attended the conference and presented 21 invited talks, 7 oral contri butions and 10 posters. The presentations are published on line at the conference web page (pldc-pp.ifs.hr).

The conference was finaced mainly with funds obtained from the conference fee and to a lesser degree to the ones obtained from the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb and the Unity through Knowledge Fund program through grant 65/10.

On behalf of the Programme committee of PLDC-PP, we want to thank all participants for their attendance, as well as the members of the local organizing committee: Ivan Balog, Osor S. Barišić, Jovica Ivkov, Jagoda Lukatela, Petar Popčević, and Kristijan Velebit. We also wish to thank the management of the Institute of Physics for their support in the organizing of the conference.
